Age Requirement

Amebo is an 18+ chat website and ALL users must be over the age of 18. Minors (under our age limit) are strictly forbidden from using our site even with parental permission. By using our service, you confirm that you meet our minimum age requirement.

All users must use the report button to report any users they suspect to be under 18 - this supports our own multi layered moderation mechanisms to promote site safety!

Inappropriate Conduct

Amebo strictly prohibits any form of inappropriate content, conversations or behaviour:

• Obscene language or insulting conversation on either text or video;
• Discriminatory language or gestures in relation to another user/s race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender, religion, cultural identity, age or appearance;
• Appearing naked or semi undressed or displaying any sexual behaviour or showing any other part of your body other than your face in video chats;
• Displaying weapons or any items that could be perceived as weapons in video or images;
• Engaging in any illegal activities, including but not limited to the use of illegal drugs, the promotion of criminal behavior, or the distribution of illegal materials.

Amebo has users from over 242 countries and territories worldwide so users must respect cultural differences - acceptable language or behaviour in one country might not be acceptable in another - that's why we expect people to be respectful, avoid offending others and keep it clean.

Gender-Based Solicitation

Amebo expressly prohibits the practice of indicating gender preferences at the beginning of chats through symbols such as "m" or "f" or by any other means. This platform is not a dating site.

Virtual Webcams

While we allow virtual webcams, using virtual webcam software to stream pre-recorded videos and represent oneself as someone else is strictly prohibited. A message will be displayed when the user you are chatting to is using a virtual webcam.

Advertising, Spam, and Disruptive Content

Amebo strictly prohibits any form of advertising or disruptive content in either text or video mode. This includes repetitive messages, irrelevant postings, unsolicited commercial content, and excessive linking, whether for commercial purposes or not. Pointing the camera towards other images such as advertisements, written signs etc is not allowed - all users must not direct their camera anywhere except on their face.

Third-Party Scripts, Bots and software

The use of unauthorized software, third-party scripts, or bot software is strictly prohibited. Any user found attempting to penetrate or disrupt the platform's operation or security without express permission will be subject to legal action.

Consequences of Rule Violation

Violating any of our rules will result in a ban from Amebo. We reserve the right to permanently ban and restrict the service of any user without exception.

Amebo has a multi-layered approach to site moderation and the enforcement of our rules, so it is important you read and fully undersand our rules before using the platform. Our moderation team and AI systems continually monitor the site for suspicious behaviour or behaviour which directly violates our rules. Paying for an un-ban does not provide immunity or protection from future bans if the rules or terms of service are not upheld. We enforce these rules strictly to maintain the safety and integrity of our platform.

Changes to the Rules

Amebo reserves the right to modify our Rules at any time without prior notification. It is your responsibility to regularly review our Rules to stay informed of any changes. Continued use of our platform after changes have been made constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
